4.1 In intensive therapy. Between the subconscious and sedation.

Once interned and intubated, under the effect of anesthetics and sedatives in the intensive care unit, the perception of what is real and unreal is altered while being unconscious. However, I remember the electronic sounds generated by all the equipment in the ICU, the sound of mops as they cleaned the area around my bed, the rhythm and intensity of the sounds, some dialogues between the doctors around me, as well as sensing the moments of distress it caused the entire therapy team when a patient went into cardiac arrest. This led them to raise their voices and initiate resuscitation maneuvers, opening ampoules quickly and requesting medications during the moments of cardiopulmonary resuscitation performed on the patients around me, even though I was sedated during those moments. I also recall the difficulty they had in keeping my heart and blood pressure under control. I am also aware of the sensation of being immobilized to prevent me from harming myself while sedated. As the days went by and under the effect of sedatives, my conscious processes gradually faded, and I began to perceive lucid dreams as if they were my everyday reality. From this point on, the narrative will focus more on dreams, some of which can be interpreted as side effects of medication, others as lucid dreams, astral journeys, or alternate quantum realities.
